Reflections… a Scripture verse and inspiration for daily living [5/24/19]

They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior [Psalm 24:5 (NIV)].

In remembering the covenant we have made to the Lord, our God, consider the promises made; He will be our God and we will be His people.  But what does it take to be His people?  Today’s passage sheds light upon that question.  Verse 4 states that the one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god may ascend the mountain of the Lord.  But how will the Lord, our God, show us that we are His people?  Again look to the Scriptures.  In verse 5 it states that His people will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.  Praise the Lord, our God for the many blessings He bestows upon us each day!  May we:

Lift up your heads, you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
[Psalm 24:7 (NIV)]
But, who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle.
[Psalm 24:8 (NIV)]

May we open up the doors of our hearts and let the King of glory come in.  Enjoy this blessed day!

Passage: Psalm 24:1-10
