Today’s Passage: Luke 8:26-56
Opening Prayer: Father God, we know You see all, know all, and You have a plan for us. We often stray to areas where we think there is a point of no return, BUT praise God, You cross all boundaries and barriers to reach us – to heal us, to save us, to restore us, and to unite us with other believers. May we see we are not beyond redemption and deliverance by You, Lord God. Ease our suffering and draw us near. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Message [used with permission from A Sermon for Every Sunday]: Jesus Crosses Boundaries, Jesus Heals, Jesus Saves by Rolf Jacobson, Professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
It’s about the way Jesus crossed boundaries and created community everywhere he went. “In today’s long reading from Luke 8:26-56, Jesus crosses three different boundaries to save three very different people from three very different crises. In each case, he restored that saved person to his/her community,” begins Dr. Rolf Jacobson, Professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He continues, “The God who draws near to us in Jesus Christ, draws radically near, intruding into this world for the purpose of salvation and deliverance from evil.” From what do you need to be saved or delivered? Listen and find out how Christ can restore you to your community.
Closing Song: Jeremy Camp “Jesus Saves”
Closing Prayer: Father God, thank you for sending Your Son. Jesus delivers us from whatever binds us. He frees us. He is our deliverer. May we remember that He not only delivers us, but He restores us – restores us to a family, to friends, and to a community of believers. May the power of the Holy Spirit unite us to others, through Jesus Christ. In His name, I pray. Amen.
